Hi all,

would it be possible to get models or assets from unity and import them into gameguru?

got a couple of models there I love to keep but I like the speed at which I can create stuff in gameguru and would like to carry on here

I know GG uses .x format is it just a matter of finding a converter ?

thanks

Sure!
I recon that the models you have are in .fbx format? These can be easily converted into .x files with numerous 3d applications. Furthermore, Lee has announced that Guru will support other 3D formats, such as 3ds, in the nearer future.
In general: If its a model, you can import it. It gets fiddely with animated stuff but that is also far from impossible

I think you'd need a plugin for blender. Go here! That should work

I think Blender comes with the plugin already installed, you just need to enable it: File/User Preferences/Addons/Import-Export. Check the Direct x box and save user preferences. I'm still using 2.69 though, I could be wrong!

I recommend triangules your models before exporting to have no faults on the faces , exported in text format x

I recommend fragmotion , use the trial version and I worked well

Be careful though. The texture limit of Game-Guru can really mess with some models. I am running into that problem.

The texture limit is 6 or you will get light mapping errors. You will need to look at these models closely, as it is a big puzzle to get them condensed.

Set the FPE file up properly or light mapping times will increase by the number of textures. Remove the texture call and the shader call from the fpe file.
