Hello,

I was looking for on GameGuru adding weather features.
So I decided to create a rain-box for all.

I started my tests, it is not perfect but if anyone is interested I would provide soon rain-box.

Here is the video of the first version of the rain-box. If you have suggestions for improving the system or texture feel free

That is pretty sweet, and contained in a cube. Model or shader or both cause the rain was coming down every where in that box. Curious minds want to know.

Great job.

Thank you =) !
Indeed I boss on a cube, but it is cut into 5 internal parts as I show you in the diagram below.
Each face is animated and LUA script used is Lafette (fire.lua) available for purchase in the Store.

Cube size is multiplied by 4000 and is used 2048x2048 texture and taste it rain were divided by 8 qu'lele is not too big, which unfortunately is still the case =(

I will provide a free demo as soon as I would have improved

well done,
i have bee working on a rain shader for ages but could not get intergrated with lula scripting and using directX 11 instaed of 9C,

As in stead of using a cube, i was using a cone model so the vertex shading would show it coming from like a wind direction, and also have weight to it so if water is present then you would see splashes in the same way when you shoot into water by using the water decal.

and so if have weight then also can change it to snow with a few changes of coordinates in the shader.
anyway bravo to see your work, and would love to see it and see what else can be fine tuned

Thank you
You are right for cones this is much better.
I could also make a kind of flat, but undulating 3D object so that the ais player the impression that the water falls really everywhere.
Example image (attached).

Information rainbow:
Texture: 8X8 frames in 2048x2048.
FX: 64 frames (default in GameGuru).
LUA based : fire.lua (by Lafette)

I think I can give you a demo version in the week =)

@Devcore35: That is very true and very generous of you, But your time for this should be accounted for also, for your hard work in making it happen, so take some of your stuff and distribute it on the store even for a very low price.

Because your time is worth it and people don't mind paying a reasonable price for quality products.
And is a good incentive for you to keep coming up with great stuff.

Thanks again.

@PirateMike: You are right ^^ But I do not sell any of my works simply because it is not very sophisticated 3D objects or even very well coded. I am not an expert in design and I think if my objects are not 100% reliable, it does no good to the sales

In addition TheGameCreators already preparing all for GameGuru in the year 2015 as the inventory, the view in the third person, vehicles that can be driven by the player, the decals, etc. So since GameGuru integrate it all by then it is useless to sell my creations ^^

sophisticated enough that no one has done it that way before. It is your choice and the free media and scripts are always welcomed. Maybe a donate button for those who wish to donate for your time, as science boy suggested.

Maybe TGC will have a different type of system, maybe they will buy yours and make improvements on it. it looks very useful right now. and in 5 years of using this and the predecessors, I have not seen it done this way and get the results your showing in your video.

I am willing to put in this case a donation page with the amount of your choice but it is only thanks ^^

I will prepare the first version Rainbox (cube-shaped) with a series of rain sounds included. I also would put in this pack LUA scripting LOOP ambience sounds (infinite loop but area loop).

I also would put you two videos: one that will explain how to properly place your Rainbox and the other is a video demonstration of what can be done with Rainbox and sounds and good LUA scripts placed !

[PACK RainBox V1 coming soon]
inclued :
- 10 sound Rain (metal, grass, etc. resonance !)
- 2 scripts LUA (loop infinite and loop zone)
- RainBox entity (Version 1)

I hope this big pack Rainbox V1 to please you all but there is still much work ^^

Pack out tonight or tomorrow at the latest

Thank you all

I continued advancing RainBow V2 but the cone is not set up correctly: can not tackle it the desired texture inside which causes a bug.

So I leaned on a more detailed cube containing 3 times the height of the Rainbox V1 and several plates that intersect inside to form a true area of rain throughout the cube.
Also I put several animated plates on top of the 3 cubes which produces that do not see a hole when the player looks at the sky.

It's not perfect yet but the shots I paufine all that and I publish it before tomorrow night I think.
I would do a short video demonstration of the new Rainbox V2 (only 3 Rainbox enough to create a good atmosphere instead of 8 !)

Hello everyone!

I announce the final preparation of the Rainbox V2
The Rainbox V2 is 3 times higher and 2 times wider than the Rainbox V1. We also closed on the top cube to avoid over to see the end if the player looks up.

It will be easier to use: simply place a 3 Rainbox V2 can anyhow player or in sets.

For information the Rainbox V2 height is higher than any 3D objects designed to date under GameGuru ; so you should have no problem : a single Rainbox V2 placed on a mountain used to be animated to the summit !

It will be ready tomorrow !

I publish it here.

Until tomorrow!

Here are the available Rainbox V2 pack!
(Do you know how to edit the title of a topic on this forum please ("Pack RainBox V2 available") ? Thank you ! )

VIDEO DEMONSTRATION :

To download the pack : see attachment.

New (compared to Rainbox V1) :

- The Rainbox is 3 times 2 times higher and wider.
- The top of the cube containing rain is closed which gives a better sense of immersion if the player looks up.
- Simply place 3 or 4 Rainbox V2 player or around the player to give the illusion of a dense rain.
- The package still contains the LUA scripting infinite sounds or area sounds.
- The pack always contains more rain sounds (your choice) and reflection of sounds like "rain on sheet" or "rain on canvas" or "rain on the roof of a car."

INSTALLATION :

1). Unzip the ZIP archive (attachment).
2). In the pack to take the "rain" folder located in "AudioBank \ misc \" and copy it to "GameGuru \ Files \ AudioBank \ misc \"
3). In the pack to take the "rainboxV2" folder located in "entitybank \" and copy it to "GameGuru \ Files \ entitybank \"
4) .In the pack to take the files LUA scripts folder "scriptbank" and copy into "GameGuru \ Files \ scriptbank \"
5) .Place the FX Files (effect_animate64.fx) and copy into "GameGuru \ Files \ effectbank \ reloaded \"
6). Place 3 or 4 Rainbox V2 maintaining LEFT SHIFT + R to shoot a can of Rainbox V2 before placing it several times to cover a larger area. I rectified without rain areas (there are no missing texture issue).

If you love this pack you can make a small donation at the following website:
