Are there any free characters anywhere, besides the standard ones in gameguru.

I may be old, but at least my memory still ....mmm

Knowing how long it takes to make a character, I would not count on that. It could take up to 2 weeks to make one.

If you want free characters, then get make human, export the mesh out of there, and into a 3d animation program and make it your self. That will be as free as it gets, not counting your time to learn and convert and animate.

Good luck

Perelect, I might be able to make a character for you (but not model him/her, because I can't model in that much detail as of yet) but I will be able to animate the character you wish for.

Just tell me what kind of character you want and I will see if I can find a model online to animate for you. (You will most likely have to credit the guy for the model though)

Thank you for the offer TheSourceCode.

I didn't realize how much time it take to make them.

But I have found some on an old post.
13 of them and they all look great, mechanical spiders and robots.
They don't have any scripts with them, but that suits me as I wanted to try and write a script from scratch for learning .lua.

I cannot find the post at the moment and I didn't book mark it either.
I think they are from before game guru.

Once I find it again I will post up a link for other that are interested.

Thanks for the offer once again.

@perelect, I believe you're looking for this https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/208967

The SteamPunk pack had the non-animated bots/spiders in it.

Ooo, and that just gave me the idea to combine them with smallg's turret script!

Yes that is it.
Thanks for finding that geistschatten.
They look great.

Are they non-animated bots/spiders that have been built, non-animated or have they just haven't been coded yet?

there is animation details in the .fpe files

;animationinfo
animmax = 100
anim0 = 121,160
anim1 = 121,160
anim2 = 11,30
anim5 = 11,30
anim6 = 36,50
;working
anim7 = 91,100
anim8 = 101,110
anim9 = 111,120

anim11 = 71,85
anim14 = 71,85
anim17 = 71,85
anim20 = 71,85

;shutdown and startup
anim60 = 71,85
anim61 = 86,86
anim62 = 56,70

im just learning at this stage.

you can use this script to loop through the animations - press "e" to move on to the next
it's a good idea to check the fpe list is in order first such as;
anim0 =
anim1 =
anim2 =
etc
as i notice they sometimes have gaps (just means less pressing to get to the next)

then write down the animation numbers you want and use those in your scripts

There are quite a few free characters on the fpscreator boards. You just need to deal with getting them into gameguru.

A Sniper Character - Sniper U Soldier

I have been learning how characters work and I have put this guy together.
Its just the Uber Soldier equipped with the sniper rifle.
So now I have a sniper guy to play against.

It uses the original script, ai.soldier.lua so its not a true sniper.

If someone can make a good sniper script it would be good to try his guy out at a distance.

He drops the sniper rifle when he is killed, so you can collect it.

I think the Character Generator tool should be coming out sometime this year? That will allow you to make a bunch of characters of your own I believe. I haven't really looked up all the details on it yet though.

Perelect, your zip contains the model and textures which should not be posted up for download, you could post the fpe and script if they are your own but will run into moderation if you put up any content which is covered by license.

No problem just didn't want to see you get into trouble inadvertently.
