Please do not use the "autoflatten = 1" for any small assets (containers, ladders, desks, crates... Use the "autoflatten = 0" !!!
For example:
If you use the "autoflatten = 1" for one crate or ladder placed on the roof of one building, that crate (or ladder) will add the terrain at its highest !
So, think twice before use "autoflatten = 1" in the any fpe file.
Smile today, tomorrow could be worse

I agree with this 100%, yes we have an undo feature, but auto flattening has to much border around it for my liking.

You can press the "U" key to turn it off but it would be better if it was never on ...Then you could press the "U" key if you want to activate auto flatten..
So yes I agree

I actually have to say this should be entirely disabled in the FPE and left up to the map maker if they want to turn auto flatten on or not, NO FPE file should have this, just my opinion but +1 if you agree and maybe we will be heard and then perhaps lee will remove it as an fpe option

until now i have never seen autoflatten as a help for me. the only thing it does is destroy a map when i click too fast (forget to disable autoflatten). i never use that so i agree with you

Agreed, should definitely be off by default and removing it from the fpe might be OK in this case as its not really needed and the few cases it might be would be easily done via the editor.

I also agree that it should be left off
It is a good idea to have an auto flatten feature, but only as an option to select to use when needed,
