They will take effect when you bake lighting. If you are only using real-time lighting then stick to dynamic lights.

I have tried it with baked lighting, and the static lights still do not light the scenes. Is it a specific baked option out of the 4?

I always just use f4 if baking lighting. Depending on how your global sliders are set up and how you have your shader effect settings it may minimize the effect. It may be worth noting that bright ambient or surface lighting can pretty easily overpower a placed static light.

Ahh ok. The map i was working on is quite dark, so i will have to fiddle with global sliders and shaders. Cheers

seems to be only terrain shader you need to be above medium not entity, i never remember which is which but i'm sure it used to be high+ only so must have been an improvement somewhen

however i think i may misunderstand... when you say static light, are you meaning you're switching them to static mode? i dont think that's possible? i just tried it and they dont light up for me either no matter what i do

Thanks a bunch PirateMyke. Everything is working fine now. Cheers

@Smallg, everyone else...it seems you cannot add static lights to a map that was already built. It has to be a new map, and set some static lights from the get go in order for it to work.
