Hi. I've been beavering away with GG as normal and have made a video of a new level I have been working on. It's a start of a fantasy style game which I may actually carry on with rather than just make a nice demo All good fun and after about 10 hours work it is looking fairly nice.

As well, I have started a small tutorial off to mark GG's release and will continue with more parts as fast as I am able. The first part is up, with a second to follow soon. You will find the video right next to the one I have posted here.

Any thoughts on either are welcome. Happy game making!

Edit - Update. Now I have added the beginnings of AI for the map.

I take 15 days and does not finished mine yet. However I must say in my defense that I'm starting from scratch.

Thanks all for the thumbs up! It still needs a few more places to explore as yet, I mostly have the main Island done. I need to add a little scenery in the distance on the far isles also. I'm as ever mostly seeing how far I can push GG and keep the frame rate still playable. If I can add the things I want I will then get down to adding game play elements If nothing else it may be a nice little demo of what you can make with GG in a pretty rapid time frame.

@ 3com, I've been at this since day 1 so am fairly adept with GG now. If i had to make my own media it would take an age of course. I can take a week on one item on occasion. The great thing about GG is the fact I have so much media at my disposal straight away,I can get an idea fleshed out fairly well before I have to worry about the time consuming job of making media. Although I am nearing that stage now Not as much fantasy stuff about on the store as yet.

Thanks Syncromesh! Good slogan!

Shakyshawn, cheers I tried to make it similar, but wasn't trying to mimic it perfectly Just the overall feel and a similar start point

It's a pity there aren't any medieval buildings with interiors, just to have an inn and such available.

Again cheers for all the positive comments, it's good to know my time and efforts are not wasted

Just thought I would update this as I have made a few more tutorials since this was posted. The first is here.

So far, there are 4 parts available. A 5th will be available either later today, or more likely tomorrow. Most of this is probably old news to most people here, but newcomers may find it useful.

As it is an update of the original video, I thought I'd post a video of the RPG scripts I have been working on to help transform it into a bit more of a game. I'll add it to the start so it is easy to spot

Tutos are always useful 4 everybody. I'am a newcomer and I found it so useful for me, thanks again DVader!
If you plan make some tuto about texture some item, I'm having troubbles for texture some bottles of wisky, beer, and wine, I always get tiled texture and is very ugly, since my max models looks quite nice, but I don't get nice texture.

I.E.

If you do not work with 3ds Max or you do not plan any tutorial related to my issue, please do not worry; I'm sure your tutorials are equally useful for everyone, including me.

Cheers all. Noticed I got a mention in the blog

3com, yeah I know the feeling, UV mapping and texturing are my least favorite part of model creation. It takes me ages. Probably not the best person to give a tutorial on texturing. I don't use 3ds max anymore, not since version 3 I use Bl;ender now when I have to make something I need. I may do something with Blender down the line, but not max I am afraid.
