No, but he walked back and forth outside, as far as I could tell, (I was inside and really couldn't see how far each direction he was going, but it was back and forth) but whenever he reached the doorway and I was within his sight, He would shoot at me. I tried to draw him inside, but he wouldn't come. Perhaps he KNEW I was death incarnate. I think the new AI works indoors if you PUT them indoors to start, I just haven't tried it yet. And perhaps it matters which script you use?

I made a waypoint straight into a door way and beyond then stood back and watched.....
The Lazy sod walked towards it and then veered off around the outside ?

Maybe tomorrow I'll find some time to play with it. I'm puppy-proofing my house tonight and part of tomorrow, then gotta go over to Mom's house for the annual Christmas Eve gig. Have some errands to run, and whatever time I have leftover will be Reloaded time.

I've had a character chase me very nearly into a tent. I've tried putting them in tents/buildings and they find their way out to come and home in on me because they hear me shooting; so they are pretty good at path finding compared to how they used to be. The AI seems to be getting better with every release. Unfortunately I have problems with way points, for some reason they don't want to follow them when I lay them a route to walk.. they just stand there looking lost. I've got around this by not using waypoints at all really. Instead I hide my enemies in "inconvenient locations" and choose between using the normal combat soldier and the defensive combat soldier depending whether I want them to come out and chase the player or hold their ground and guard their location.

Edit: Just did a test. Started making a new flat level. Placed a Structure (Combat Building) and a combat soldier outside looking in the door. I put my start mark in the bottom left of the building. On test game I ran in front of the door the enemy started shooting at me. I ran away into the room where I started so he would have to come in to get me. He quickly came in and started shooting me. So it's confirmed. Enemies DO chase you into buildings!

Hi,

AI's should work in the default buildings, I've seen it myself many times.

You may need to check the buildings FPE, it should contain the line: forcesimpleobstacle = 3. I've not got the various settings to hand, but feel free to play around with the value.

Will this work on polygon collision=1 or does the building need to be run through the importer as the new box collision=40 and draw the openings?

Works pretty good! I had him chasing me in and out of one of the stock buildings (Sandstone Structure 17, has 4 doors). It was kinda fun! I tried it on a custom building but alas, it had stairs at the entrance, and he was afraid to go up them. So I shot him for his incompetence.

Yes !!
My problem was I was trying it with a custom tunnel section....
Once I added " forcesimpleobstacle = 3 " to the FPE ( as SC suggested ) it works Brilliant
Awesome stuff ..

He just stood there, didn't even move when I came into the building. He shot at me, of course. A lot. He turned to shoot at me as well, and his legs moved, but he was just walking in place. He would shoot me on the stairs as well and even though I was below him and he was aiming straight ahead, he miraculously hit me every time! Now there's a magic bullet(s)!

So I shot him for his incompetence.
