For some reason when I have multiple lights in a scene, some of them fade out when you walk away from them. Its really weird that they dim when you are only 15 steps away. Any idea why?

They've always done that for me, I'm not sure why, but I think it's a limit of Directx or perhaps simply the engine itself.

Direct X can only support 8 or 9 lights onscreen at a time? Can't remember the exact number but I know it's pretty low. This is really just for dynamic lights which I'm guessing is what you're experiencing.

New beta has a brand new light mapper, so you'll be able to bake most of your static lights without issue and leave dynamic lights to objects like a fire/torch or flickering light.

Another way is to plan ahead, especially with in-door scenes, spread out your lights so that you never have more than 8/9 in a scene at a time.

Welcome to level design!

A couple of things for that. I used a total of 4 lights. and they were all static. On top of that I did use v 1.9... So what the next guess?

Blah duh...you can also change the range at which the light is rendered or not. Forgot about that...

I don't believe those lights are meant to be static. Of course I'm no expert on the matter. Perhaps Lee could offer up some advice? Anytime I've made them static, they put off no light whatsoever. Perhaps this is a feature not yet implemented. We are still in serious beta mode, with at least a year to go by my estimates based on progress to date.

EDIT: I've extended the range before, but I've still had that same deal where only 2-3 are visible at a time at most.
