Hi all. I thought I would post this video up about my latest experiments with Reloaded. I have added a couple of scripts to get a pressure pad working in conjunction with my pick up script. It is available on the store.

It works quite nicely and I was rather pleased when I got the dropped item to trigger the pad as well Which was the intention after all Obviously the door trigger here is just an example, but you could change it to trigger other scripts or change the activate script easily enough.

This is just a different activate script I have put up for those who want to trigger a standard door anim.

Way cool!

I read this earlier in the day on my phone, near the end of my break, skimmed the post really, and I initially thought you meant a physical pressure pad, as a form of input, and my first thought was pressure pads today, game pads tomorrow, and PrioVR 'round Christmas time! I was mistaken, obviously, but I'm still impressed!

Thanks all! Glad you like it, and that it works okay out in the wide world

@ Scienceboy, it's actually the Sega Master System Boot sound The Retogamebloke replaces the Sega Logo.
@ Jerry Tremble, not sure how a real pressure pad would work using Reloaded, lol. Certainly need some more Lua commands for that!

Is the pressure pad script working by attaching it to an object? Also, is there some sort of way of expanding it's boundaries and also using it vertically as in some sort of collision detection/trigger device? Nice job, by the way.

Yes, you attach it to the object you want to use as a pressure pad. Increasing the distance it checks will allow you to use it in the way you mention I imagine. Obviously I tailored it to work as it is, so you wouldn't trigger things while carrying objects, only when dropping it onto the pad.

Ok, thanks for the great work. I bought your scripts, my feeling is - you are being far too generous at asking a mere 100 points for your intellectual property. And now, I will beg your forgiveness in advance for asking you to humor my ignorance - could you direct me where to find the information I would need to trigger an event with your script? Attaching it was a breeze, but I am so freaking clueless as to how to get it to run another object's animation sequence (is that even the idea?) or run another object's effect (oh God, I am really showing my moronic tendencies now!). Uhm, look, just so you know - I bought several books on learning the LUA language about 6 weeks ago, so really, I am trying so hard - I have always been more of an animator than a game maker and the whole reason why I've even been working with this software is to have another tool to make videos - I really don't envision myself making games, but scripts like yours will definitely help me if I can get it working. Ok, now I'm just pathetically begging, hahahaha - but anyway, any simple information you can direct me to will be tremendously appreciated! - By the way, yes - I have successfully created objects that have animation sequences and have tested their animations in FPSCR (just in case that info is important!)

I guess it could be like one of those dancing game pads for a one-legged person!

Very big thank you to DVader for his help! This script works perfectly. I have a number of applications that I will be setting forth with this to use precisely as the author intended and I'm very excited because this will really play such a large part in some videos that I'm making (did I mention that my intentions are to use this software primarily to assist in making videos?).
Anyway, I highly recommend these scripts to anyone who needs the applications as described, for with proper usage you will find that they can be extraordinarily effective in enhancing the dynamic player experience.

It is done as far as you have seen in the video, but lack of Reloaded options and also, have not been well the last month. I tried a little coding yesterday and felt ill quite quickly, so still not right I'm afraid. I would release it tomorrow, but am hoping for more commands to make it more complete.

Edit - Okay, spent some time checking out the survival scripts, but feel they are definitely not ready for release. Although you can run around and chop trees and mine rocks easily, there is nothing you can actually use them for as yet. So I can't much see the point of releasing still. If people really feel they want it at this early stage I may reconsider, but really although the script has a fair bit included (beyond chopping trees), it still has no real purpose.

I have also just finished a new activation script for the pressure pad I may put up as another (optional) way to use it.

I have added a new activation script which animates doors rather than the current one to lift objects. Probably not gonna be a huge seller, but as some people want it, I have put it up as an add-on. It may prove useful to some people who want to trigger an animated door.

thanks dvader, is there any way to get a non shaky, collision detection working for the pick up and carry script, or would that need to be hard coded in GG?

It wasn't possible when I wrote it, I had to turn off the collision when interacting with the object. I haven't had as much time as I would like to continue scripting of late, I was hoping to get my survival scripts a bit closer to completion. At the time you couldn't even detect key presses, so I had to work around that for the movement. It may be that can be improved now, but I haven't looked into it as yet. Too many projects and too little time...
