"Bit of a mish-mash today, but a significant one in that I followed some Intel engineer advice and now my engine can use up to 4GB of system memory. It's still a Win32 application, but thanks to a 64-bit friendly flag for modern operating systems, I can use the full 4GB address range from here on in."

this is good news and should make game making abit easier for larger maps with more in them
I cant wait for 09 but of course have to lol...

yes smallg just asked what the "modern" counts as for os though will it be vista upwards or win7 +? this is a good questioni think for some1 like scenecommander or lee to answer here?!

This is actually very good news.
Don´t forget that pre-baked shadows will consume some additional memory that dynamic shadows wouldn´t have needed.

Yeah, memory issues are the biggest gripe bar speed ones atm. Certainly good news!

Hey that's really good news. What types of benefits could we see besides avoiding memory caps?
