Don't see this as moaning or anything! Just not sure and looking for some information. Basically I know that the engine is to be new, the way you design levels is new and everything and it's great hell even in the state it is right now you can create some awesome stuff. But my question is will any of the previous features return as as use of segments to create buildings? I know that it has terrain and everything now but doing indoor maps seems to be a bit.. Well weird to me. So far all I can see is work being done into outdoor level creation. I guess I'm just worrid because I actually bought FPSC for the sole purpose of it's level design. The use of segments and such to easily create levels and buildings (I can do mapping on source so it's not like I hate level design.) but with this it seems like indoor level design may be even more of a hassle.

Just looking for any info on what's gonna happen with tools for making rooms.

But also in general is there a list of features that this version will include that Classic had? Thanks.

The soon-to-be-finished construction kit will make it easier to create indoor levels.

Yeah have a search, you will find a few wip vids and such. Different from FPSC, but ultimately more varied. Still not sure when it will be let loose into our hands though.

I'm hoping this next beta we'll at least get a taste of the conkit even if it (obviously) isn't finished yet.

EDIT: I just realized it's November over there already! Where's the beta? lol

Yeah it's good and all but so far all the beta's we've gotten have just focused on outdoor stuff like vegetation and such. Nothing really useful yet. We at least need the creation kit, I think that should be their focus at the moment to get into the BETA after that then they can focus on other stuff because they have actually left us with something that we can use while we wait for more features. At the current stage it's actually worth more to go back to the classic FPSC for making anything to me. My game relies heavily on indoor levels, and FPSC classic is simply much better at the job right now.

I think the coming beta has improved the lighting both outside and inside. I could be wrong, though, half the time I am, lol! I know the AI is now capable more or less of navigating indoor spaces, and we will get a taste of the conkit this time 'round, so that's at least a hint that things are moving in that direction. Performance has been the priority all along, and they've had some hits and some misses. Lee has new tools to assess such things now so I think we should see some major improvements. No sense moving indoors when things don't work right outdoors. Keeping my fingers crossed. (Not literally, I have to work still).
