It's doable, I've converted them myself. I'll say it's a bit of a pain in the ass. I took my inspiration from the free sci-fi packs offered by alfred x10.
If you follow his format, copy his FPE file, modify it for your purposes, then reload and save the texture as a tga, it works mostly fine.

I've converted a few, too. It's the prefabs that'll mess you up!

Did you run into an issue with them spawning halfway through the ground?

Hit that and just avoided it for the time being but would love a simple fix.

Bolt Action Gaming- I tried it when the first beta came out just to see what the issues were, so this was some time ago, so the details may be a bit fuzzy! I believe I constructed a prefab out of segments in Classic, but in order to actually USE the file, I used the "universe.dbo" file from the levelbank (Just how you would load levels made in fpsclassic into dbpro) then loaded it into Ultimate unwrap so I could convert to .x format. The UV maps/textures were all over the place and would have taken (me, at least) months to straighten out. I gave up. I never did even try the model in reloaded. I did the same with a few individual segments, and they seemed fine. I never kept on with it because using segments that way didn't seem to me to be very efficient polygon-wise. Classic had a way of optimizing those segment meshes when you put them together, which is probably why the prefabs were weird outside of it (or perhaps it was the .dbo importer for Ultimate Unwrap. It's been in beta for many years). The prefab meshes were fine, just textures made no sense. I have never tried this, but I wonder, if DBPro can save .x files or .dbo files (I believe it can), could this be a way to do it? I think if your meshes are spawning halfway into the ground, the fix should be easy enough, just change the origin of the mesh.

Jerry, the model that you gave up on, due to the awkward UV's; do you fancy sending it over to me? I will see if I can get those UV's sorted for you.

I am sure this isn't breaking any AUP's as I personally own the majority of TGC's products. I have purchased X9, X10, DB, DB Pro (couldn't never use DB! It was part of a bundle), a LOT of model packs and obviously Reloaded. It's quite scary to look through my purchase history! I have spent a lot of money with this company! haha. (See attachment)

Anyway, if you feel I can help, please feel free to send it over.

Cheers

Jay.

[img][/img]unfamilia- you\\\'re purchase history looks eerily similar to mine, lol! I can\\\'t capture a scrolling window for comparison, but anyway a lot of money indeed! (but we\\\'ve received a lot of stuff in return, to be fair.) That prefab I made was just an experiment to see if/why segments and/or prefabs wouldn\\\'t work with Reloaded, as they were said to be incompatible. That model is long gone, as I\\\'ve wiped the drive on that laptop and use it exclusively to pay bills. It touches the internet no more than 16 times a year now, lol. Maybe when I get home from work tonight I\\\'ll sit down and make another to show you what I mean. I could just as well use one of the stock prefabs, though I don\\\'t know if they\\\'ll have the same issue as one made by hand. I really liked using Classic to create levels/worlds for DBPro. It\\\'s the fastest method to date that I\\\'ve come across. Doors never transferred, but that wasn\\\'t a big deal.

Attachments never work for me and I have no idea why, but I got a chrome plugin that captures my order history!

Jerry, you just vomited so much knowledge at me I realized

All i did was hackney someone else's method and see if it worked, then erroneously assume that you'd done the same thing. I'll try not to make that mistake again O_O

LOL, Bolt Action Gaming, love that picture. I understand the mechanics (mostly) of what is going on. My coding skills aren't terrible, in fact I'm familiar with several languages. To me, the logic is the same across them all. However, if a REAL programmer ever looked at my code, they would certainly call it sloppy and inefficient. Also, I am certainly no artist! I can model fair enough, but my texturing sucks and I am working on it. We are both fortunate enough to be in this community, however, where there ARE coders and there ARE artists, and for the most part, people around here are more than happy to help each other out. I've been around these parts for 10 years approximately and have learned most of what I know from the original forums. Never signed on, I simply read and when I had a question, I never asked, I simply google forum searched it (the host search engine sucks, really). It wasn't until Reloaded was announced that I actually signed onto the forums for the first time. If you feel you are lacking any knowledge, trust me, you will find it here, either ask or search!

On a side note, I'm an engineering student from many years back, and I LOVE graph paper! Yesterday, I ordered some rather large graph paper through Amazon. It showed up today, as usual, as they are incredibly prompt. Anyway, I found it funny that they padded a pad of paper with paper padding. No kidding! Not trying for alliteration (I know Lee likes alliteration) but it's for real! 4 1/2 inches for a 1/4 inch pad, roughly! Image below:

Lol, used to annoy the hell out of me. Places look so much better with doors normally I only purchased FPSC originally for use in DB Pro. Ended up having odd bugs where certain rooms refused to display correctly in Pro, but were fine in FPSC. Still, apart from that issue it worked a treat and I had a fairly nice looking space station for my Elite Clone. Ended up consigned to the scrapheap in the end, wasn't fast enough on a netbook, lol, they were being pushed at the time and I was working on a game that could run on one. I was perhaps a smidge ambitious, lol. Although, it ran fine on my desktop.
I found the load universe command quite cool to be honest, lol. One line of code and boom theres a level! Well, almost
