I find that a recurring problem with map editing is when it comes to laying flat ground assets ie roads and pavements, its almost impossible to not have parts of the ground sticking out or end up burying the roads with the dig tool when trying to create this. Is there a failproof method i am missing out on?

You can toggle flat terrain using the U key. That will flatten the terrain under and slightly around the models footprint. That might help.

Or you could pre flatten the terrain with the terrain leveling tool

PC Specs: Windows 7 home 64-bit, Amd 7900 3gb DDR5 graphics, 8gb DDR3 Ram, Intel i7 3.4ghz

Or you could try and make a terrain in your model program. Nake it FPSC reloaded ready and import it as an entity. Set its height to what to what in the map editor and then sculpt the terrain in reloaded to copy your entity terrain as close as you can.

Back in your model program you can then draw a spline to the contour of your terrain and then loft the road to that.

Make that Reloaded ready and import into your map and it should be very close match. I did that in the comp entry I did 'Escape From Treasure Island, California'

Worked out pretty good over all. Still a bit of work to complete.

Hope this helps out till a better solution can be had.
