Hi,

We don't have a date yet, but it's not even gone to alpha testers yet.

I'm eagerly anticipating this version as well. The new terrain texturing and the black texture fix are the main reasons I want to start working with it.

System Specs: OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1, CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 945, 3.0Ghz, RAM - 8Gb DDR3, GFX Card - 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, FPSC-R Version - Beta 1.0071

It keeps getting bigger There is an idea to start wrapping up the build to get it into your hands but the jury is still out internally. Make some more noise about V1.009 and maybe it will shake something lose. The current plan is 'full steam ahead on visuals and performance' with 'making a good tested build' coming second in the list of priorities.

I think you have the right plan already Lee, keep pishing performance until YOU feel happy enough to release it, just remember that blog burn you had. Wouldn't worry too much about a couple of people saying we want it now, holding it back just gives it more time to be better

PC Specs: Windows 7 home 64-bit, Amd 7900 3gb DDR5 graphics, 8gb DDR3 Ram, Intel i7 3.4ghz

And i was one of them as it had to be said and lee can take a good flaming now and again it keeps him focused and its to be expected any anything you do. The reason i said something is we went that far back it was worse than version 1.6 but i believe he will pull out all the stops for 1.9 right Lee

A loss of 111fps

Thanks Lee If the screen shots on your blog are anything to go by you have got it in the bag just allow the processor to do some of the work and enable multi core and it will be golden.

the few people who are saying we want it now also paid there money and you would not have a engine if it wasn't for them so a bite more respect

I believe that was directed at me and c'mon mate have a think about it, of we push and push for releases all we will get is a bigger and bigger bug list. Let them take their time and get it right and squash all the bugs they can so everyone, all pledgers get a better experience for it. This is BETA after all if your after a finished product NOW, that's not going to happen here

My understanding was that '85 was supposed to be halfway between '8 and '9 but that doesn't seem to be reflected in the length of time we have been waiting for '9.

I think 8.5 was a hot fix for 8. After all Lee has been gone for a week. He hasn't even had time to put his water wings on for home yet. I believe things have been coming at a good pace. Lee is very busy, after all he is the International Game Whisper. OK Lee just kidding .

@lordjulian: Wouldn't want anyone to think it was just "Julian", eh?

8.5 was a hotfix for some issues in 8.0 1.09 promises some new stuff and I'm really looking forward to it.
It might be available next week as Lee is on some convention ATM
