The Asia style house is fantastic wolf. Love the original style modeling you do. You are a very creative person and know how to execute and idea. Are you working on any new model packs?

Hey community!

Would you folks tell me what kind of prop you'd like for the next "freebie of the month?" I don't have anything planned and all my current projects will got to the store

Please keep it reasonable and I'll pull it off

And to refrain from the evil sin of doing a useless doublepost, allow me to copy in the plasmashotgun from acythian:

Thank you Harry! Its available for sale too, I forgot to mention that.

I like your graveyard pack a lot!! It has a nice and definitive style to it, however, I'm not a fan of how it is covered in this blueish hue.

Its been a while since my last update, so here goes:

Harbourside Shack

This was a nightmare to unwrap properly, but I'm statisfied with how it turned out! A rundown shack to spice up my future scifi packs. Not particulary futuristic, but I bet it'll fit right in the worndown stuff I plan to make for said pack.
Texturequality is sufficient for having the player getting in the building aswell. It reacts nicely to light

Cherubim Sword

I'm starting another set of fantasy weapons. This one will have fewer weapons than the aegydian sets but I bet it will fit in some fantasy games as valuables or even a thief-like game for the player to steal. If these where in any kind of game I'd make, they'd inflict medium damage but would cost a fortune
This one is far from perfect but hey! Its flashy

Please drop in a comment if you stopped by! I'm always interested in seeing what you guys think.

Love the plasma shotgun and the worn out harbour shack, that shack is along the lines of the style I want to take my project but alas my texturing just is not that good yet. Awesome work as always

Edit, oh and as for freebie of the month idea, maybe a small abandoned hunting shack

Hey! Try it anyway Worn and torn is a lot easier to do than clean

Quote: "maybe a small abandoned hunting shack"

Hmm! What do you envision? Hunting shack can mean anything depending on where the person lives. You live in australia so you probably don't think of the cozy little wooden huts I do. A picture would help

Quote: "Intricate texture work on the Cherubim sword - what is the texture size?"

Thank you! As I don't know what my clients do with the weapon sets when they buy them, I give the textures higher resolutions. That one is 2048² in case the buyer uses them as a first person weapon. I do however recommend scaling the textures down to 1024² or even 512² for third person view games or if used as a decorative object.

Concidering your job, I bet you love time off out in the open?

Glad I've asked, because when I think "hunting shack"...I think of something like this.

but a postapocalyptic shack like yours will be easier to make. I drop one out for the community once I'm back from a (possibly) longer or (likely) shorter vacation.

@AuShadow: I can relate. I've been taking a walk with my girlfriend through a nearby forest lately. She used to live in a larger city and has rarely done this so casual before. We spotted a fox and a wild deer very close to us that day, occurances common to me growing up with grandparents who where outdoor people and raised me the same yet for her it was almost a magical experience

@TazMan: Thank you!

I hereby reclaim this thread from death! The tides of styx will no longer hold it down in the hades of page 2!
Soon there will be a few new models. There will be a new pack aswell. I might not release that many freebies for a while now simply because I get around less on my computer and if I get a few hours to play around I'd like my efforts to go towards a larger project I might be able to sell later. I also plan to give you all a tutorial on how each and every one of you can have plenty of corpses in their game without even having to learn how to model. Noticing how this is a popular request around here I initially wanted to make a horror and gore pack and well... cash in... yet I cant bring myself to model corpses ...its just wierd So I figured I'd let you in on something obvious that the newbies likely dont know yet but is extremely effective.

Some fantasy environment props I made.

Your usual giant shrooms. Some say stereotypical, I say classic.

I know we have a lot of rocks out there, but I always say that self sculpted ones look better than generated ones.

Some alien plants to populate your levels

More giant mushrooms to add variety.

Thank you Tarkus! I remember talking to you on the steam boards. Nice to see you stick around here aswell.

Hey!

I'm working on a new scifi-pack. The previously posted shack is part of it aswell and now I added this modular bridge..which you can elongate as much as you like.

Thank you Gtox. Glad to be welcomed.

I was riding the train recently and seeing all the old, rundown equipment you see around railway-stations really got me to make another scifi-environment pack. Altough the next pillar was originally intended to be a lightsaber

Hmm!! I'm on the fence as to if I will get to making a whole game...and if so...what would it be? Even a very simple one is a humongous amount of work. As of now! this is mostly just a new pack for the store. This is a new object for said pack:

Interplanetary seismographic data emitter

Arise my thread! Deep from the grave of page 3.

(please view in full resolution)
To be honest, I've modeled this after an evening out somewhat drunk. Couldn't sleep
Its an air filtration device and should look decent to fill scifi scenes. Its certainly going to be in Acythian.

This is the last modernday weapon I'll do in quite a while. They are just too much work to unwrap and texture properly.
I've done tons of guns in the FPSC era and I'm threw with it. Its not my strength as much as environmental stuff is.

A lamp and some wall machinery. Small props.

Hey all!! Thanks for the lovely feedback.

@3com:
Quote: "Are you using ilumination map to get the shiny model?"

Yes! If you end the texture name with "_I" game guru will display them as well

Well everyone, altough I really didn't want to I finished the AR. I originally started it to have at least one gun on my curriculum that is very well textured but abandoned that thought rather fast as this type of weapon is already around by the truckload. Its rushed, yes... I used parts from FPSC Classics AR and minor elements from EAI's M4 but hey!! Its done and can now be archived. Nevermind that the touchscreen on the scope is inverted. This will not be for sale.

I might use it as an accessory for this work in progress:

A mesh from CP's Star Trek Pack that I have edited, modernized a little and transformed in a female scifi/fantasy mercenary.

Update

I have made this building exclusively for Acythian. Its among the few things on here that are not for sale. This is because it has a remade texture from FPSC Classic on it that I don't own the rights to
Its in the same style as previous scifi buildings I have made. You might remember some similar way back as FPSC freebies.

Models like this will dominate the skyline of Acythian rather than the more generic buildings seen now.

There is also something new that will be available for purchase. In designing levels, one can never have enough structural/architectural props to put in corners or hide badly intersecting building blocks. Therefore I have made these pillars which will be in the new pack as well.

I'm fond of the gritty semi-realism of my scifi props but there is still a lot to improve upon.

Something more upbeat: My giant shrooms in game guru.

Thank you for visiting!

I'll be making 2 or 3 more and then I finally start uploading new stuff to the store.

Hello!

Here is a new sword akin to previous models.

Nehrian Claymore

I'm thinking about making a fantasy game equipment and items pack. Not just weapons but all kinds of items you need for a fantasy game. My focus clearly lies on the scifi pack though

Thank you all! I have no update just yet, simply replying to feedback

Quote: " these are very nice textures...."

Quote: "Nice uv mapping mate!, love those textures, lights and shodows does the trick nicely."

Light and texture have always been most important to me in my 3D work. I believe many filmmakers or painters can sympathize with the notion that those are the most important in visual art. I have learned a lot last year and I believe I can present a whole new generation of models and media later this year.
There are a lot of things I do differently now.
If I had a little more time on my hands. No, scratch that, If I had a little more time on my hands at hours where I am motivated and have the energy to work I could have the 2 new packs done by end of this month. But as it goes with my life it will most likely be by the end of next month...perhaps later. We'll see.

If there is something you would like to have in the new packs (large scifi pack and fantasy items pack) please post and I can add it.

Thanks for reading!

Hi Wolf, you seem a little sporadic with your output, which is fine by me, I understand the need for a real life
Thing is when you do get into creating your stuff is fantastic, very unique and has an individual style which is your own.

Keep at it bro', you know I love your work

Hey Rolfy! Yes, no...arrgh! You are right. There was a time where I put out lots of content and was way more enthusiastic about it and I guess that faded with growing older and more used to what I am able to do and what not. I guess at the time where I had a few releases out and started to branch out in other engines I felt like the sky was the limit and that maybe, in 5 more years or so, I might be a part time environment artist for game...but reality sank in rather fast. The following year I did a lot of freelance stuff that never made it in packs or threads and shows a gap in my modeling "resumé". You can still see models from the mystics lair modelpack on this thread even though I started working on that almost 4 years ago Having a creative outlet like this is also a creepy reminder of how time flies.

I made most of my content during a time where I had an awful submental job and needed something to use my gray matter on that wasn't repetitive and pointless.

In between have been times where I quit or had to quit temporary which I believe amounts to a bit of over a year of time that also leaves huge gaps in output and ....to be honest, with FPSC having crumbled under its own weight, the memory cap and unplayable built games and game guru being in development so long (including all its ups and downs) my enthusiasm has gone even more. This added to another gap in content and now...

I'm pretty happy with my little ambitions on here, the community and the results I can produce. I still have faith in the GG project and... thats really it. No more big ambitions of selling cross plattform assetpacks or freelance environmental artist .
There are days where I tell myself in the morning that once I get home I treat myself with a cozy "development evening" but things are getting in the way more often than I manage to make it behind my laptop. Other times I just end up being too tired and prefer to do less demanding things.

Your output is relatively sporadic as well, but when you put something out, its brilliant I remember well when you released a battle mech and a dragon for FPSC at a time where most didn't think it could ever have that kind of scope or content.

Thank you very much! It means a lot coming from you.

Will do! I know things are slow recently but I hope that you will stick around in the community as well. What you do has always inspired and influenced a broad amount of members

Hey gang!

I had trouble finding sleep so I finished some models. Some of these are actually a few years old and I didn't get around finishing them until now.

Cyberpunk Pillar

Wall Prop

There is an alternative version without the screen because the player notices something like that repeating itself in the map right away.

Old Cyberpunk Neon Sign and lantern

...but there is also something new for the upcoming pack:

Thanks for viewing. Please leave some feedback

Looks great! Can't wait to see the mech textured.
Signatures are overrated.
