Thanks DS13! I have an old 386 with the DOS 8 Bit version of Escape from Dr. Colosso at my lake house. I still play it every now and then for the nostalgia. Don't forget to send me feedback on this latest game version. I hope this will become my biggest release yet.

I am holding off on another release of the test game until most of the issues created with the last engine release are cleaned up. None of my custom enemies work correctly at this point and the multi level attempts case havoc with the all my levels. We will see how things go with the next engine upgrade.

Here are some of the latest screen shots from the tests I am doing with V1.009. This is the swamp on level 6 that is much harder to get out of alive than I thought it would be. Let me know what you think!

All my recreated classic creatures are now working again in V1.009. It took a little tweaking and some FX changes, but they are back in play. Thanks for the help Scene Commander.

Test Version X09 for your review. This is the latest test level using the Reloaded VR1.009 engine. The multi-level is not working yet, but I hope to have that corrected with the next release. Warning the level play is twice as hard to complete. Be sure to send feedback.

(SB) "how did you get the fantasy ones to work? characters that is"

I had to use Animer and some creative tweaking of the LUA and FX files tied to them. They actually only work for a partial character. I am still having trouble with the death animations. That is why they explode rather than die.

Here is the latest and last test version of Colosso Crystal Skulls to be released before the exciting Steam release of the GameGuru. I am looking forward to the next step. This game has been created using the Reloaded beta and its looking killer! I have also included a handy installer. Play all you want and always always send feedback.

Sorry I missed this thread for a while. So many changes and updates for the Game Guru I can't keep up. I have been working on the Colosso Crystal Skulls and here is the latest Video Teaser. I hope those that are still interested come back to follow this thread again. I have four multi player levels in my workshop on steam and I will be releasing another multi level stand alone test of the Game very soon. Please let me know what you think.

Here is the latest and the best multi-level work in progress version of the Colosso Crystal Skulls. There are more creatures and more trips/traps then ever before. Please play all you want for free and send feedback to help me improve this game before the final release. The list of fixes and improvements provided by the Game Creators is huge and the game play is getting better every time. The file is large and I have removed the installer program for now due to some older operating system bugs. The final version will include the auto installation parts when finished. Have fun and keep gaming.

Looking back how far Colosso has come. I found these video clips of the Origonal DOS games that started the series. If you have never played on an 8 bit system you should watch these to see how far we have come. The Colosso Adventure storyline continues with the latest project Colosso Crystal Skulls. Look for the other episode created with the original FPSC.

LATEST MULTI-LEVEL GAME: Today I am releasing the lates test version of the Colosso Crystal Skulls. The file includes new video splash screens and story updates. Multiple levels and more creatures than ever before. Many features and changes with this version. Play all you want and send feedback to help make this one of the best Colosso Adventures yet.

Note: The file is large (2.88GB) due to the multiple levels and may take some time to download depending on your connection, but it's worth it.

While waiting on needed improvements to the standalone games, I have been working on several multi player levels through steam. Check them out on my steam profile. See the workshop items and we can play a round if you see me on steam.

User Suggestions needed.

While working on more assets for the games and building the new levels I would love to get some suggestions from those of you playing Colosso Crystal Skulls. You can send me a list of items and assets to be created and added to Colosso Crystal Skulls and the Game Guru Store as well as suggestions for what you would like to see in the game. The best 5 suggestions will be given the completed asset and final game for free.

The current build from my test game complete with all five levels and video story line is now available at a fraction of the original size. The old file size was almost 3GB is now compressed down to only 940MB making the game much easier to download and play all five test levels.

I have added a link to the test version of my work in progress game Colosso Crystal Skulls made with GameGuru. You can follow the thread in the GameGuru forums for details on a final release, but this is the latest version made with the current GameGuru. The game is called "Colosso Crystal Skulls".

Astonishing work, Colosso! You've made great customizations to the loading, titles, and menu screens. You also made your own "About" screen which explains how to play the game and use the custom controls such as Jet Pack, etc. I love how you started off with a cut scene as well. The game play is fun and challenging in a universe that is richly detailed with the game assets that you have created.

I'm glad to see that you were able to reduce the download size to 940 MB. You could create an even smaller file by using 7zip's self-extracting feature (the resulting exe file would be 616 MB).

Thanks again for sharing this test game, I'm having a wonderful time playing it!

Cheers,
Rick

Thanks Inertia it was great to hear you enjoy playing Colosso Crystal Skulls. It is a learning work in progress as the GameGuru continues to grow. I really didn't do anything to this latest update. It was the developers that improved the way the multilevel games are stored and removed a lot of redundant files/folders. This makes the game available for a lot more people to play.

Yes, it's funny that the devs slipstreamed in the feature that allows us to make multilevel standalone games without compiling each level map. This is why I downloaded your file, because it was only 940 MB.

The next test version of the Colosso Crystal Skulls is ready. I can post it now or wait for the next update of GameGuru. I will let the users choose. I know they are adding load/save game options with the next update and this will make the multi level game much better to play. Let me know if you want it now or after the next update.

Waiting on the next update to the Gameguru to allow Load/Save game options in my next test version. Huge thanks to everyone who is playing along and those who send feedback. This should be one of my best game releases yet.

You should play some of the original episodes made with the FPSC to understand the storyline and how all the episodes link to the Mad Dr. Colosso.

Good work, Colosso, and lots of it.
Is there any way to skip levels successfully completed, since weapons are not being carried over to the next level, anyway ? The whole thing is so big, dying doesn't occur too often, but it happens. Having to play through all levels again is a bit scary to me.

You may want to look at the lizard men (or whatever they are) in the first level.
Most of them make running movements, but somehow seem to be tied to the spot. The one who looks like their boss ( I guess he is the boss, because he is harder to shoot than the others) even is standing fixed in thin air without any cover.

Talking about cover: in the first level, there are some nice spots where one can seek cover and see at least some of the enemies, but not all.
I like that very much, maybe, this could even be extended to more spots?

Did I notice correctly that the distribution of weapon types seems to be randomized when a level gets restarted because one did not complete it in time ?
Not bad, either.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback Yrkoon. Many of the features like load and save should be coming soon now that the programmers have completed the conversion to C++ code. I realize many of the characters don't do how I would like them to, but Its still a work in progress. I also have some problems with the skybox for the first level. It is not the one I tested and saved in the editor. Keep watching this thread for more updates and improvements until a final full release is done.

Update Colosso Crystal Skulls is still growing. I have added several new levels to the test game, and I'm running final tests on my gaming system and my laptop to be sure everything still plays well. Keep watching for the next test game release. I am hoping for the load/save options soon.

2016 update.

The latest release to the Colosso Crystal Skulls has been put on hold until I can work out the bugs in my multi level demo. I am working closely with the support team to figure out my issue and release a ten level demo. You can still download the five level demo and play all you like. I will keep updates posted, so keep following this thread for the final release date. Remember you can get the custom skyboxes and some of the many custom entities at the GameGuru Store.

I am considering rebuilding the Colosso Crystal Skulls from scratch at this point. I know I want to improve the various multiple video qualities and balance the level play together better with the story line. Any suggestions or workable opinions are welcome. I have also been working on a bunch of new objects and entities to fill some of the open areas. You can pick up those items over in the GameGuru store as soon I have them all working at their best.

Well I guess I won't change much on the current build of the Colosso Crystal Skulls. I will continue to improve the video quality and make additions to the current levels. No response on changes suggested means you all love the current progress, so I will continue on the path I am on.

Just want to keep everyone updated. Looks like I will be releasing another multi level test soon. Although it may have some added menu functions, some of them are not completed yet. It will however have many more levels to battle through.
