The zombie pack is undergoing final testing, and will be released soon providing we don't discover any show stopping issues.

It looks like we are waiting for a hotfix to v.1008 before the zombies will be released. It's got me really excited also... I'm checking the forums all the time hoping to hear of any news first!

I like the idea of slow dumb zombies, it's more my sort of game rather then rocket man blowing you to pieces every 5 seconds!

My manager actually resembles one of the zombies in one of the old packs. I've been debating whether to make a short one level game and showing it around at work, but I'd probably get fired.

I have been getting some brutal feedback on the Zombie Pack from our internal testers who believe the wider world should not be exposed to the current version of the Zombie material until we have more varied zombies, more animations, more elements and so forth. This alas means you will have to wait longer for the pack. I am curious what you preference is here. Do you want a Zombie Pack now and maybe improved at a later date, or wait another month and get a better Zombie Pack as a result of more art and scripting applied to it? One side of my brain wants to release so I can start on other cool things like more assets for the CONKIT and Modern Day library, but another side of my brain wants to make sure the Zombie Pack will well received first time. Bottom line is do you want to wait, in exchange for an improved pack?

Nuff said. Let them do the job you gave them and we'll wait until it's ready, lest they begin to feel their input is for naught.

Brian.

If my post seems rude or stupid, don't be offended. It's just a failed attempt at humor.

I'd just as soon wait until the zombies are ready for primetime.

I've split this into it's own thread to make it easier.

Hem... This is a very difficult question to answer to...
I personnaly wouldn't mind waiting longer for a better result. But I created (and finished) some levels which are just waiting for zombies and I'd like to have a look with them so I could carry on working or st a final point to these levels.
Then... I think I would prefer getting the pack now even if it's not the highest version.

I was thinking dead rising - slow dumb zombies that go for you when you get near to them. But from the sounds of it Lee has responded to feedback that they are too slow and dumb so maybe more like Call of duty Zombies would be cool. A speed feature which allows you to set how fast they are? That way you could start of the game with them being slow and stupid but by the end they are running after you hunting you down. Just ideas...

I would wait for it to be done right. That way when you do move on to other things you shouldn't have to come back much instead of hopping back and forth. Besides, brutal feedback from testers is a sure warning or what to expect from the masses on a quick release. Critics are brutal enough.
