I don't know if anyone else has noticed or had same issues but ever since 1.006 was released i feel as though it has got worse in many respects. In 1.005 the engine would load every time, but now it is more susceptible to freezing especially during start up and whenever new models are applied. It seems to be a matter of luck whether or not the program even opens now.

The problem is definitely worse though when new models are added.

This is the only version that I've really used seriously and for a long time. I haven't had any issues of that nature so far. I've found bugs of various sorts, but not crash bugs.

System Specs: OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1, CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 945, 3.0Ghz, RAM - 8Gb DDR3, GFX Card - 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, FPSC-R Version - Beta 1.006

v.1.005 ran pretty well on my computer so it can't be just me.

Do you have your video drivers up to date? That's usually an issue with games and game engines.

My graphics card driver is definitely up to date.

Just did a search now to double check.

What about your video card specs? And are you up to date on your windows software? Are all the latest critical updates installed?

Its an Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Beyond that I don't know, as its a Toshiba satellite laptop. It didn't come with more detailed information on the graphics or video card.

As far as i can tell, all windows updates are done. Its not prompting me about any necessary updates in the taskbar. Starting to think i may have no choice but to buy a new desktop.

EDIT: Disregard that, there is indeed an important update due. In my tardiness i forget to set the update prompting on. Will try this and come back.

I don't know about the Windows update issue, but I wouldn't trust this video card to be very reliable. If you aren't using a mainstream nVidia or ATI then you are probably going to experience problems.

Well, unfortunately I'm not in a financial place to buy another computer and upgrading the graphics card doesnt seem to be an option as from checking other websites it appears to be integrated into the motherboard.

That said i don't see why FPSCR should be a huge burden on my laptop. This computer is capable of running Sim City (the remake) and Kerbal Space Program pretty fluidly.

These Intel cards have definitely gotten better over the years, but any integrated video graphics chip is going to be less capable and more problematic than a dedicated card in my experience.

First thing is that I have had much more stability with 1.006.

Second, I recall seeing someone else complain about the HD 4000. There might be an issue with the 4000 series. I run fpscr on my laptop with an HD 3000 and sometimes have issues but mostly just speed.

well not sure if it's the case here or not but i know if reloaded crashes it doesnt close the task process and when you try to open reloaded again it will fail to load correctly because of it (gets stuck checking files).

Apparently, updating windows did very little to resolve the issues. Its still freezing and crashing.

@smallg,

yes, this is a recurring theme. When it loads often it will get as far as 'checking files for you' and it just stays there unless i hit CTRL ALT + DEL.

Bummer. Wish I could think of something else that might help, but I'm at a loss. I would try smallg's suggestion though. As I've never actually had Reloaded crash, I didn't even know that.

@tommy8 : If you can reset your PC, then record a video of the whole process from running the software to getting a crash, and send me the video, I can then analyse the nuance of the issue and may have a solution for you.
