I am hoping for some sort of collision with the terrain so say you place a tunnel when you raise the terrain it will simply go around it letting you use the tunnel.

That would be a great way to make caves. Some people have mentioned that some other engines do it, I don't know how they do it though, but your idea sounds like it would probably be the easiest to implement. If they could do that, then any subterranean structure should be possible, like basements and dungeons! Ooh, Dungeons! Sweet!

There is currently a bug in putting terrain around entity. I reported it. I used the dual tunnel in the brown mountain and put the terrain all around it except by the tunnel. After reloading the save the terrain defaulted back to the edges of the entity.

Edit: I am not able to attach anything for some reason.

It does not put it around it.. it builds it from the floor through it and then ultimately around it if you do that. Place the tunnel, then elevate one circle on the floor. Use the level tool and start on that elevated portion..click and drag to the entity and it will start to clip it and add terrain. If you increase the level on that level a little then continue to fill the inside it will keep getting higher eventually covering the entity. Problem 1 is if you fill the whole center of the mountain you will also fill the tunnel, problem 2 is if you are able to fill everything but the tunnel after you save and return.. it pulls the terrain back to the edges. It still looks ok but looked better when wrapped more.

My pictures are not attaching so I don't know whats wrong with that.
