Ok guys bear with me this is alot to take in For this example we will be using the scifi blaster gun



1/First locate the entitybank & gamecore in x9 C:\Program Files\FPS Creator X9\Files







2/ Copy folder scifi from x9 entitybank to = C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator Reloaded\Files\entitybank



3/ Copy folder scifi from x9 gamecore\guns to = C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator Reloaded\Files\gamecore\guns



4/ open gunspec (FPS Creator Reloaded\Files\gamecore\guns\scifi\blaster) in notepad and change



;GUN Visuals

textured =

effect =



To



;GUN Visuals

textured = gun_D2.dds

effect = effectbank\reloaded\entity_basic.fx





5/ Go to C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator Reloaded\Files\entitybank\scifi\items



Open blaster.FPE with notepad



Change



;AI

aiinit = appear2.fpi

aimain = ammoglow.fpi

aidestroy = disappear2.fpi



TO



;AI

aiinit = appear.lua

aimain = weapon.lua

aidestroy = disappear.lua



All done this works on 90% of old models/guns even rocket launchers they just dont have the kaboooom we all want



if you want the effects for guns ect you must copy the Decals folder also





side note reloadqty = 6 <<< this is your ammo you can change it to 600 for testing till you get the ammo working but its easy enough

erm I don't have x9 or x10 or classic only reloaded m8 so I guess I cant do the mods needed to change some of the guns to work in reloaded then right?

If it is you can fix this by changing "gunspec" keyframe ratio and just change Idle = 21,47 to say Idle = 21,22 and so on i only had to change Idle & Move

No it actually moves fine.....Its more then you fire the flash is a big white diamond on the screen. You can only see it for a split second though.

Ok great i will have another crack at it

Also copying the entity bank over i think i overwrote some files that i should not have. All my Markers have changed to X10 Light bulbs



So im gonna reinstall and start again and do it carefully !!



This also means that maybe the gun packs for X9 could be done as well ?

Yea X9 works also in the entity bank don't copy _markers folder over im sure that's the only one you need to worry about

Sure thing m8 the folder you need is muzzleflash if you are using x10

I followed your instructions exactly (seemed pretty clear so i doubt it is me being thick) and was able to place the blaster on the ground in FPSCR but it doesnt let me pick up the sci fi weapons, i just walk over them.

Tattie, i have followed your instructions meticulously, I even tried a hard re-install and while in game mode it still absolutely doesn't want to let me pick up the blaster.



You mentioned that there are some issues between transferring the weapons from FPSC X9 and from FPSC X10. Can you elaborate what you mean by that? In your above tutorial you seem to have more or less repeated the same process as in the first typed tutorial earlier in the thread.



Another thing is, its not even clear to me which version of FPSC I own; I didn't actually buy it from the TGC website, I bought a hard copy of the disc in GAME of all places. This is the 'about' screen on my version of FPSC.

Yea that is x9 you have so it should work no problem its strange it dosent let you pick up have you tested another weapon like the autoslug.

The autoslug works, yes!



I entered the same script alteration for it that you provided for the blaster. Its a mystery then why the blaster refuses to work.

You can also try this....Load up reloaded...Place your start marker on the map.....Right click on your marker so it zooms in....

From the left preferences select "Has Weapon" and see if you can pick it from the list...If so apply changes and run the map..



At least if you have the weapon in game your nearly there.



No I meant the updates for your old fps creator...yours says version 1.0

Works great for me and is fun to play with a new weapon finally. I cant seem to get the amo to work and tried following the same procedures for the weapons and changing the weapon.lua to ammo.lua.

the mp40 from the ww2 pack works for me too, but i get a weird square where the muzzle flash should be and theres no ADS aiming.

Packs 9&10 do work just needs another folder copied over also for the cross hairs copy a crosshair.dds to gun folder
