Does anyone know if reloaded currently supports opacity maps, or if there are any plans for them in the future? I know that the dds file format for the texture will support alpha channels but I need different sections of the texture file to have different transparency levels.

Thank you

yes i have a windmill using alpha opacity.

check my thread further down, i basically erase the area using paint.net

then save as dds.

apply to the model and hey presto a transparent set of sails on my windmill. wich is rectangle blocks

just as long as you know how to set up your dds file in the programme you should be fine

Thanks for the reply but what I am looking for it to control the level of transparency of sections of the texture. I understand the use of the alpha channel but I need to make sections semi transparent which is why I was asking about an actual opacity map.

go to paint net and use the select area tool. then what ever is in the selected part you can change then use the opacity tool you can get as an addon. or easier still do layers and change each apacity in layer properties. then merge the layers down to create one layered dds

also you can select the area and use the erase brush with the colours part on the tools. there are many ways to do this

Thank you both for replying especially the link you provided granada. What the topic discussed was exactly what I was having an issue with (I did a forum search for opacity and came across nothing looks like I should have searched for transparency which would have avoided me having to post).

Thank you again both science boy and granada
