Thank you so much for your help! I do have a few other questions though.

I have a horse from FPSC, how would that work?

I got the animations to work on the project I was working on but the gun is......well......It's not right. It's on the wrong hand. I am going to try the part on your walkthough about that. But I don't think the way you show puts it on the other hand does it?(sorry again for the 'green' questions.)

Edit, nevermind I did get the gun fixed via your walkthough. There is one more thing I would like to ask you if it's ok. I got some animated sprites from FPSC. Can I convert them the same way?

About a horse - we have to wait to use this in FPSCR, we will be able to apply it with the help of LUA scripts.

About sprites - Animer supports only animated 3D models, sprites are 2D.

all i can say is your programme is unstable. not been able to create a single character.

i follow the instructions

first mender

all good

add model then texture and change the firespot and stuff.

i then get the crash when installing the character animations usually around anim 18, programme close. earlier i had to switch my pc off at the wall as my resource monitor would not end process followed by restart freezing in constant loop.

so i am a bit fed up with trying to do it. i am on w7 i am uac. and tried several different models. bonds fantasy characters and other ones, tried a tgc one as well. i am baffled.

Whether it failed with all the models that you have tried?

Whether Animer crashed in the same moment every time?

Not got one in reloaded yet.i will try when I next get a spare day but it is a very frustrating experience. I have recharged a bit so will attempt. As to programme not responding happens around same area with a slightly different place. As said will try again cheers

Try to follow a video tutorial created by Super Clark:

http://fpscrforum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=208248&b=8&msg=2483097#m2483097

And let me know in which moment Animer crashed.

Yes, you can use it in FPSCR, don't forget to use Mender 2.0 first.

.obj format doesn't stored rigged characters - only a mesh.
You need a rigged character in .fbx to convert into .x format.
If you have only .obj file, you have to rig your character in 3D editor.
There are problems with the ragdoll and imported characters in current version of FPSCR. Lee is working on it.

Ragdoll deaths and problems with imported characters exist from 1.080 version.

Videos were made on earlier versions then 1.080.

ok thanks... nut now I have another question...

I'm trying to import an tfa 341 model into relaoded and I followed the correct procedure and as you told me in another topic I firstly opened the model into meshview and resaved it, after opened it into mender 2.0 beta 5 and resaved again and finally opened in animer 2.2, changed firespot and applied reloaded character animations. After that I reopened it into meshview and resaved as binary to resize weight of the model... modified fpe, textures etc...

all works fine into the editor but when I kill him the editor crahses and i have an error (illegal limb at line 50824 ) so it's related to ragdoll I suppose.. but since other classic models like colonel x ect simply have a bugged ragdool on death , in this case crash.. Is it due character have additional animations?

I did not apply addiotinal animations due I dont know how I can do.. can you plase can explaim me how can I apply additional animation??

thanks...

@JC LEON

A character have no additional animations.
A ragdoll death works fine for a character, if it has exactly the same skeleton as Masked Soldier.
How FPSCR react if you kill a imported character, depends on how much a imported skeleton is diffe

Lee is working on it.
I think that we will be able to turn off a ragdoll system for imported character in .fpe file.

HI,

My understanding from Lee is that all custom characters will work for the next release, providing a bare minimum of bone hierarchy is maintained. As far as I'm aware models will only need a correct spine structure. Certainly Animar 2.2 characters will work with ragdoll for the next release.

I thought I read from Lee, that you can use ragdoll=0 for now in the fpe file for the character.

Add it to the fpe file and clear the dbo and bin files and try again and see if it does work.

Thanks, I downloaded the tutorial, as I bought the FPSC version when it came out but was not smart enough to get it to make anything or get anything to work, if the tutorial is simple enough to understand and actually make something, I will get this version too.

About MENDER - Norton Antivirus report :

Any idea why this program is considered suspicious and with high risk ?

Dito.. I never could get the last version to do what I wanted.. Like get a model to walk!
Really upset as I counted on it, to have a step by step, as not all of us can read minds to know how to use a great program.

Apparently only five people that have Mender/Animer also use Norton. Either that or Rafhalzer is hijacking everyone's computer!

There are 14 video tutorials about Animer.
Look at 19 page of the Animer tutorial - Menu / Help / Animer Help
Encourage you to read the whole Animer tutorial.

There is also a video tutorial created by Super Clark:
http://fpscrforum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=208248&b=8
It is about a conversion from FPSC classic to FPSC Reloaded character.

Sadly not yet, but I'm working on it...

Just bought this software and have it had it crash several times. I try to load an .x character with animations, it does load the object and the animations and it does create the limb references then whenever I try to save as dbo or even click on the model, it crashes. Every time. The other model, it does pretty much the same thing but instead crashes when it tries to reload the model.

@Alien Menace

First, use Mender to repair the character.
If it doesn't help, use MView - just open and save a character.
MView you can find here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1wrhjvcx09qb3c/mview.zip?dl=0
If it doesn't work, let me know
