Here is an early look at Nomad Mod for FPSC Reloaded which makes some graphics enhancements and improvements.



I'm updating this project as we move through the BETA releases and using stock media for testing purposes.



+ Improved dynamic shadows

+ Improved dynamic lighting

+ Improved flashlight effect

+ Improved muzzleflash effect

+ Improved post processing effect

+ Improved moving clouds

+ Legacy weapon support

+ Legacy character support

+ LUA scripted AI



* Now includes support for legacy weapons e.g. Errant AI guns.

* Now includes support for legacy characters e.g. Errant AI Task Force 341.

* Now includes moving clouds and LUA scripted AI.

Nice work so I take it these are all done by working with the shaders?

The reflection on the gun looks really sweet, good work.

Thanks. Yes at the moment all of the modifications have been made to the shaders. I'm also looking to make some optimisations for them.



I replaced the post processing shader (post-bloom.fx) as I don't like the fact it blurs the final image. This has a negative impact on the overall quality of the scene and turns your pixels to mush. A little SSAA is ok but in my opinion the only good use for blur is on background images for pause menus etc.

Thanks. I've tweaked the weapon shader and currently testing this for legacy weapon models made by Errant AI e.g. model packs 9/10.



Here is a screenshot from the editor. As you can see the map is small and using almost 50% memory on a flat terrain but sounds like Lee has some ideas how to grab our memory back soon.

Good luck with this. I can't actually see any difference, beyond the gun being shinier myself. But I imagine side by side it may be more noticeable. Perhaps I am missing something obvious? Not knocking this by the way, just wondering what differences there are.

I've updated the terrain, entity, weapon and character shaders to improve lighting and shadows. I also replaced the post processing shader completely as this was making Reloaded look worse than it should because of the blur effect being used.

Here are some screenshots and a video showing the AKM from Errant AI model pack 9 in Reloaded with full shader support. You can even see the specular reflection from the bullet case in the 2nd picture.

The ground is too shiny but other than that WHERE CAN I GET THIS?!

How did you fix the blurry bloom shader? I've been trying to fix it myself. I'm certainly no shader expert but I have a very basic understanding of how they work. Was it something in the vertex shader?

Nomad is this going to be something or are you just showing your tinkering. It is all great but you added "mod"so is it going to be given out or a showcase for others to see what can be done. Keep up the fantastic work. But not sure your aim

FPSC Reloaded BETA v1.07 is released today so you can get the new LUA AI. Nomad Mod version will be available when Reloaded officially comes out of BETA.
