How does one make a custom weapon?



Earlier I was messing about with models and made a model in sculptris and exported it to .x and tried replacing all 3 of the Colt model files with the model and ingame I can't see anything onscreen, so I'm just wondering how would you set up the model for view?

Try exporting the weapon model with the mesh attached to one bone and see if you can see it. The shader in the character model and player weapons uses boned skin meshes, so a mesh with no bone will not be seen.



To test this theory, you could change the shader of the character holding the weapon to the basic entity shader and see if you can see it in the test game.
