I am unable to run any level I had created with previous versions of Reloaded that entities, classic and bespoke.

On level test Reloaded gets to Initialising Physics and crashes - Auto closes after a delay shuts down back to Windows 7 Desktop.

Spent some hours so far trying to isolate a reason to no avail as yet.

Reinstalled (Reloaded uninstall does not seem to work - it does not seem to be registered with Windows 7 at all) Does not seem to have a file cleaner feature to remove .bin and .dbo files automatically following install.

Rebooted system.

Running through entity files to update all entity .fpe files used I can find.

Levels without entities seem to run OK.

Anyway no luck so far in getting any levels containing entities to run so far.

I am now trying to delete entities one by one to see which if any or all specifically cause the issue. That may take some time as at each test run it auto shuts down so only one entity at a time can be tested.

Could be anything as far as I know. Log file is of no help.

Enjoying this one - never ever had this happen with any previous version of FPSC back to FPSC classic EA.

Hi Uman, I think I have a solution.

I also had the problem, did some work on various test maps and wanted to continue with those maps to test limits etc.

I thought there was going to be some issues with entities using .fpi

However here is my fix (may depend on content etc)

*I had a Tree placed in map as normal in prior beta, no issue.

*Loaded map in Alpha with same tree content, crash on Physics loading. (as above in Uman's post)

*I made a new map, placed tree and edited the in game settings.

found that the Strength setting was 0 on all the effected media.

*Changed STRENGTH = 0, to STRENGTH = 25, and now the map loads

All the best.

I fixed the issue now.

It was indeed the .dbo and .bin files which were the reason for the level load failing.

As there seems to be no auto feature to remove them I had to find and manually delete all entities .bin and . dbo files used in my levels. Levels now run as they should except....

Some changes are needed to .fpe files for collision as this version seems to work differently for me with collision on and off settings.

Performance and fps is sadly much worse in this version.

Very easy. 2 ways.

1.Place entity in map.

2.After placement, Right mouse click on the entity.

3. Camera will zoom in on entity and bring up a side control panel

4. scroll down panel and look for

;statistics

strength = 0

5. change 0 to 25

6. click Apply changes

*the only problem with this, you will need to do it lots of times, depending on how many on such item you place. Or, place entity once and adjust. Apply changes. then reselect the entity with Left mouse click and replace, you will then have the item ready to place again with the changes made.

Or, you follow my guide Im about to post and I will link here.

Or as mentioned. delete the .dbo and .bin. as the engine will create new ones apon new test.

Enjoy

That was not my problem it was the .dbo and .bin files not being updated. So manual deletion of all was necessary. Job Done.

Hi Defy,

We will have to update the strength value too where needed.

I guess there will be a lot of that to watch for until things are all switched over and updated.

I am trying to update all the entities .fpe files as I go whenever I open one and when I see anything I can update in them.

Yes fully agree.

I just posted a topic in Models section on a fast and easy way to replacing the .fpe file with a new updated one from Reloaded. (Tests aside - entity worked fine)

http://fpscrforum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=207568&b=3

At the moment, I have made a copy of such .fpe file and replacing a couple as I go. Making a backup of the old .fpe until entity tested in game. So far so good.

Good luck also Uman on your tests
