at a guess and I would only be guessing I would say that the
game engine has reduced the amount of polly's based on the item being
so far away..
as a test make a copy of your model and increase the polly count so that
when you move further away it will still reduce them but you would have more
there so it should still look good.
but like I said I would be guessing.
