I think this is despartly needed. Terrain highs/lows are applied extremely fast and often seem to exceed the target area. Even with the "brush width" control - it is very easy to "mess up" a terrain map. Would love to be able to "undo" the last few changes made - just in case.

I love the ease of terrain editing thus far, but some "fine tuning" controls are needed somewhere down the road to really make it a "professional product" that allows you to create a professional game. And the lack of an undo mechanism just makes it that more difficult to fix when an "accident" or mistake happens.

Ok, so "difficult" may not necessarily be the word I wanted to use there. However, it certainly means "time consumption" and anything that consumes time where you don't want it to (like fixing that accidental mouse flick you had while spraying those trees) is a burden that an Undo fixes easily for the designer. And isn't saving time really what an easy to use tool is all about?

I love the terrain editing but I also think more precise control is needed. Perhaps there could be different shaped brushes (e.g. a square brush to make defined edges or man-made features such as straight canals easier).

I agree with BioDragonlord's "gradual incline" tool idea. I remember Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 had a great terrain editor, similar to Reloaded's so far, but you could also really focus on path creation with tiles that would snap incrementally or adjust freely by corner, side, or whole tile. It was nice.

Possibly the main reason I didn't use FPS Creator was the lack of Undo functionality. I'm very prone to those "Doh!" moments! Now that gameguru is out of Beta I'm really hoping that Terrain undo can be incorporated soon. Pleeease pleeaaase.

I will have to look, I thought we had a one shot undo already. It is in the edit menu now. I will check and see if it is functioning.

EDIT: and works.

There is a one-step undo. I'd like to see a multiple step undo. And also with all functions - not just terrain sculpting.

yes. when i insert a building that is "auto flatten" and i click it faster than i can realize that i shouldn't click i have a hill right in my map and it can be undone but all the entities that are affected by this don't go back to their original place.
in the latest versions i found out that ctrl+z sometimes works for terrain editing. but the entities still are messed up.

Lots of pressing save, and incremental, save as, is very handy for this reason. you can always erase the ones you don't need any more at the end of the day.
