This is a test level using stock media of the Beta 2 release.

Much better performance on my system.

It seemed that, when starting out with a "blank" new map, the frame rate and performance was not as good... but the framerate was sustained even as I added more and more media.

Sizable improvement in my opinion.

The FPS in this test is limited to 30 by FRAPS. I get between 45 - 100 FPS.

I noticed a couple of issues, but I will report these formally later.

Thanks guys!

Yes, there is one combat guy at the end of the video.

I think that, given more optimization and some good AI, FPSCR may have a chance of even competing with Unity.

Being a professional developer myself (unfortunately in the business world of software), it's really just blowing me away what Lee has managed to do with the tools he has, in the time he has.

This level was about 90 minutes work (not finished obviously). I couldn't do this amount of work in 90 minutes with any other game creation suite!

Bravo, TGC!

Hi otrov77,

No... well nothing quite that hilarious!

I mentioned on that thread that it looked like John Carpenter's "The Thing" was attacking!

I have noticed things like the gun models flying apart and coming back together again when reloading, but nothing radical. I may hrow a bunch of animated models into a map and see what prevails...

i have found a solution... i have uninstall fpscr and install beta 1 then beta 2 over it. now i have sounds, dont have those strange bugs, only weapon has some bugs, but little and characters are ok now, but AI is like in beta 1, so they shot away from me sometimes

And another, "highlighting" the bloom and lighting effects for mood and atmosphere (a little over the top, but what the hell...)!

Nice level dude. I agree with the preformance improvement. I got an average of 40 FPS on this level I just created with my own contnent, and old FPSC model packs. Lots of NPC to kill:

Another inspiring video.

These videos are getting alarming! I'm still struggling with basic controls.

I can see I'm going to have to up my game.

@Grooovy! @morphtactic

Amazing videos there!

You guys seem to be sailing through all the performance issues some of us are having. Its good to know what Reloaded can do with the right specifications and some clever design though.

I guess I've been writing game engines and tools so long I can get the basics done quite quickly (and having an existing framework helps). I am still learning of course, like we all are, and if I can crack the habit of getting something insanely solid and slick before moving on, I think we will have a great long-term product here. Right now I am in PPP mode (Performance x 3), and wild horses will be required to budge me from this singular goal.

Hogging the awesome since 1999
