If I get killed after passing through a checkpoint the test game returns to the checkpoint. However, I can no longer equip myself with weapons even if I find some more and pick them up. Is this supposed to happen or is it a bug? If it's a bug I'll report it. It's easily reproducible.

You can't have any weapons after you die. That's one of the rules.

Think what he's saying is he's unable to pick up weapons after having died and been restored to a check point.

sounds like a bug to me.

@xplosys [Added for clarity - previous post wasn't there when I posted, on post moderation I guess. Makes the following quotation even more apposite I suppose. ]

"History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce." [Karl Marx, c. 1852]

No. I didn't know about that. Thanks. Why should that be necessary? Works though.

Turning the mouse wheel is the default action to change weapons in FPSC, much as in other games. For some reason, and I don't know if it's a bug or should be normal, the player still (obviously) has the weapon after dying, but he is no longer equipped. It seems that if you were holding it when you entered the checkpoint, you should be holding it when you're sent back to the checkpoint.

Along the same lines, if you killed any enemies after crossing the checkpoint, when you're sent back, are the enemies there again or are they already dead/gone? I can't remember.

Brian.

If my post seems rude or stupid, don't be offended. It's just a failed attempt at humor.

@xplosys

Yes, some consistency is needed. I assume things like that will get ironed out once the main engine is sorted out - but if we don't mention them they're liable to get overlooked. However, I'm sure I've seen inconsistencies along the lines you describe in several well-known mainstream games so FPSC would be in good company.

I like your new signature - I could have done with that a few weeks back.
